Enjoed the Civic Service today.  Always an opportunity to talk to residents.  What was a disgrace was that only nine members of the town council attended.  We need to look at a policy on Civic Responsibility.  It could be included in Standing Orders, or allowances not paid unless attendance at three of four main Civic events attended being Civic Service, Civic Reception, Remembrance Sunday, and Annual Town Meeting.  Councillors have a civic responsibility.  Lets make all of them take that responsibility?

Delighted to see the interpretation boards now hung in Harmont Wood.  Having secured the funding, it has taken some time to get them into place, but they are there now.  I'm pleased to have led now two major town improvements over my three years as a town councillor.  Now starting on a little heritage project to restore the milestones on Wimborne and Ringwood Road.  These small improvements are part of a virtuous circle of community work which despite what some say, sees Ferndown improving.  It was good to see the Concerts in the Park this summer, and watch out for the Halloween event coming up!  Why not challenge all FTC councillors to list the changes they have led/engineered across our town and keep us all on our toes!

Get onto Hannah's facebook page and start a local debate, she wants you to!  What is the council doing that is good, bad or indifferent.  What isn't it doing?  What do you think about the town plan?  What do you think about Ferndown becoming a Fairtrade town?  Get informed, get involved!
